A TikTok experiment using Sora to generate fake security footage that hit 13.8M views.
I wanted to see if AI-generated video could go viral on its own merit. Created a TikTok account posting Sora-generated "airport security cam" footage. Within a week, one video hit 2.9M views in a single day. The account accumulated 13.8 million views, 582K likes, and 85K shares.
The Problem
Everyone's talking about AI video generation, but most examples feel like tech demos. I wanted to test whether Sora could create content that actually resonates with a real audience, not just impresses other tech people.
The Solution
Leaned into the uncanny valley instead of fighting it. Security camera footage is supposed to look grainy and slightly off. Posted consistently and let the algorithm do its thing. The lo-fi aesthetic made the AI artifacts feel intentional.
